Three Kinds of Wisdom
"This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy"
— James 3:16-17 NKJV
There are two types of opinions: man’s opinion and God’s opinion. Apostle James also describes two types of Wisdom; earthly wisdom which leads to destruction and the wisdom from above which leads to a great life ahead.
Earthly wisdom is sensual and devilish, it does not have the element of the Holy Spirit as it comes from the imagination of men. Many times, in our homes and in the corporate world, we are expected to be smart in our dealings. There is a set of expectations that we operate by the wisdom of men, but this wisdom is sensual and devoid of the Spirit of God. Examples of this wisdom in the office setting are bringing people down in order to rise or be promoted, saying things about people so that they are perceived wrongly, scheming in order to get accolades not earned, etc. This type of wisdom is devilish and will lead to destruction in the end.
The wisdom God recommends is the wisdom from above. The indicators of the wisdom from above are outlined in our anchor scripture. Application of the God kind of wisdom attracts God’s kind of promotion, blessing and favour with God and with man. It might not make sense to the human mind, but it makes sense to God and attracts His blessings.

Lord, help me not to lean on my own wisdom but rely on the wisdom from You.
