It's one of the greatest encounters I have ever had walking in the light of the gospel. The truth of this gospel brought rest and dignity to my Christian life. This new year many precious saints of God who experienced hardships, frustrating sicknesses, hopelessness, business failures, martial crisis and etc in the previous year are already planning to take prophets and prayer merchants to their villages for family deliverance and prayers. I am not against prayers and deliverance. I am only concerned of the pattern of prayers and deliverance. What brings lasting deliverance is the knowledge of the John 8:32. Jesus Christ preached deliverance to the captives. All the questions of humanity since after the fall of man was answered in Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:20. Jesus Christ was given to deliver us from this present evil world. He delivered us from the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Col. 1:12-13 Some of these negative experiences and battles are as a result of ignorance of the truth of the gospel. Most black people believe that prayers and deliverance would take the place of diligence, hard work, creativity, skill and ingenuity. Many people are very lazy, inpatient, inconsistent and unskilful and yet blame the Devil for their calamity. Some others lack managerial skills, lack discipline in handling finances and yet blame witches and wizards for their calamity. Some others blame the spirits of their ancestors for their calamity. The truth is that the new birth is the greatest miracle in the life of any person. Being born again through the indestructible word of God that lives and abides forever. When one is born again the person possesses the very essence and nature of God. He now possesses the capacity and capability to overcome all the forces of hell joined together. The person becomes a God kind well equipped to weather all the storms of this life. When Jesus Christ met the Devil in combat more than two thousand years ago He spoilt and decimated their spiritual hierarchies, made open show of them and triumphed over them in it. The Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the Devil. Jesus Christ accomplished these tasks and gave us the victory. So before you start blaming the Devil, the spirit of your fore fathers, witches and wizards check yourself very well. Do a stock taking. Many people don't think at all. Sit down and think over your life. Again get your Bible and study what Jesus Christ has done for us. Check and cross check the truth of our redemption. I have discovered through diligent studies that Jesus Christ has given us victory over the negative forces of hell. So the victory that overcomes the world is our faith on the finished work of Christ. We already have the victory. The knowledge of this truth brings rest and dignity in our walk with God. Information produces knowledge and knowledge is power. Get into this year armed with adequate information for your life. Stop spending your hard earned or borrowed money on false prophets. Stop going round unending circle of battle because of lack of knowledge. You already have the victory. Praise God halleluyah.
