Deal with Persecution?

“Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Matthew 5:12 (KJV)

Your disposition toward persecution is relevant for reward or despair. Jesus Christ shared all the keys or secrets to living a victorious Christian life with His disciples. He made them realize that persecutions are part of the Christian life and that they shouldn’t be surprised when they come, as these also carry blessings with them (John 15:20). A good attitude toward persecution is to rejoice and be exceedingly glad because great is your reward in heaven.

Beloved, it is painful to suffer persecution for Christ’s sake, but you can still rejoice in the midst of the pain. Rejoicing and being glad in the midst of persecution are ways of alleviating the pain and focusing on the reward God will give you when the persecution is over. Therefore, have a positive attitude during persecution and maturity, and rewards will be inevitable in your Christian life (James 1:2–4). Halleluya! You are an Overcomer!

Prayer : My dear Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for teaching me how to deal with persecution. Yes, rejoicing and being glad in the midst of persecution positions me for blessings. I put Your teaching to work now so that I can take advantage of persecution, mature, and be ready for greater assignments. Amen!
