Becoming a Burden. “Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.” Isaiah 1:14 (KJV)

 Becoming a Burden.

“Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.” Isaiah 1:14 (KJV)

God asked the Israelites to institute feasts and festivals as events that gave them the opportunity to assemble and worship Him. All the feasts were marked by thanksgiving and joyous feasting. Over time, these feasts and festivals became a burden to God because of the numerous sins being committed by the children of Israel. “I hate your new moons and your festivals. They’ve become a burden that I’m tired of bearing.” (CEB).

You can become a burden to the Lord because of the sins that have become a delight to you. Becoming a burden to God will deny you many blessings. Let Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, birthdays, and other festivals become opportunities for you to worship God, show love to people, and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Hate sin and love righteousness, and God will delight in you and your feasts and festivals (Proverbs 8:13). Halleluyah.

Merciful Father, thank You for instituting our many festivals such as Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, birthdays, etc. Please lead me to use these festivals to bless lives. Let people come to the saving knowledge of Christ through these festivals so that they don’t become a burden in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
